I have been in the laboratory industry for over twenty years, starting out at the bench, progressing to a distributor and then subsequently a manufacturer's sales representative. The last six years have been spent in distribution management, which has been for me a natural progression, in an industry that I am now extremely well connected, respected (see my reference pages) and comfortable finding my way around.
We are all born with innate characteristics that will influence the choices we make in life; I was born a mediator, someone to bring people together. The role of distributor manager allows me to make the most of this quality.
Taking my experiences of the previous years I have been able to take an empathic approach. The role of the distributor manager is to be a conduit that brings together the manufacturer and distributor and enables them to form a strong working relationship to best serve the final customer. This vital relationship might not form without that third party help. This is especially so when the two parties are geographically separate or even unknown to each other.
On a personal level, I love to travel, I read when I can and try to get to the gym as often as possible. Family and friends are very important too; I still have school friends that I catch up with whenever we can all make a space in our busy diaries.
